2-DE possible to be used for plant plasma proteins,or not?

The question has puzzled me a lot.In the recent papers,plasma proteins are thought as an unsuitable materiel for classical proteomic analysis using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis.LC MS/MS is widely used now.But in HURKMAN's paper,the 2D image seems not bad.HELP!
