BSA dimers

Hi Everybody,
I have a solution of BSA and I need to separate dimers from monomers... How can I have to do???? It's possible with gel filtration??? Someone have made this experience????

Hola, Yes it could be the most accurate method to do it, but you have to choose the adecuate resin that separate from 50 to 150 Kd ; but the sample volume has to be in the order of 10e2 times minor than the column volume, so if you have a high volume of sample you have to concentrate it. Other alternative coul be ultrafiltration by an amicon device. There are for sample volumes from less than 1ml to 20-30 ml centrifugue devices and for higher volumes with gas pressure. There are membranes of 3, 10 30 50 100 Kd but I think that a good resolution of the sample could be achieve with the 50 Kd one. I know that BSA has 66Kd but the cut point of these mambranes is statistic.Look in your institution for the microcon filters of 50 Kd and made an assay if it fail change to 100kd. Good luck
