Hello everyone again, does lyophilization cause proteins to denature? I would like to use this method to concentrate my proteins but does this cause me to lose protein function or enzyme activity? thanks!

yes. if you use a good stabilizer and good lyophilization cycle your protein dose not denature.

I attempted to lyophilize an HRP conjugated Antibody, using the same cycle parameters as for dylight conjugates and unconjugated antibodies. This resulted in significantly reduced activity of the HRP conjugates. Does anyone have an idea what excipients would be helpful to stabilize this protein and enzyme? Thank you!
