Question Immunoprecipitation Controls

Hello all,
I was looking for how to make controls for IP. What do you guys use?

Recombinant protein controls are the best, but hard to come by in my research. So I use cell lysate from an overexpressing cell line. Spin column "purification" to simplify lysate--keep correct protein size range, (dilute it accordingly)--dump the rest.
