| Hi dear i have purified my protein that is a recombinant protein and now i want to preserve it, what is the best way and buffer for protein preservation of short and long time i hope you will guide me best wishes aftab ahmad |

| Hey Aftabac, Protein preservation is best at -80C but make sure you store in MANY aliquots. This way you do not freeze and thaw many times. Freeze thawing denatures the proteins and activity of the protein is lost. Storing short term (a week or a few days) -20C is ok. Do not store protein even for short term in 4C. Buffer I guess does not matter as long as it is buffered and protein activity will not be affected in the buffer chosen. Ciao! |
