Explain why high voltage is not usually used near the point of use (i.e. home, industry).

High voltage coil may generate a magnatic field which hazard human body, for example: damage to your nerv system or causing blood cancer

I would have assumed the higher radiation potential or interferance.

Well what are u really asking ?
High voltage could be anything . Do you mean 64,000 Volt power lines? At that voltage the power losses of transmission over distance are minimal . Transformers at the end convert it down to more useable voltages which are fed out to yet more transformers to reduce it to 450 V 240 V 110 V which are progressivel more transmission lossy

High voltage is harmful. It may create harmful hazards when it is near to residential areas.
