| I'm confused. Einstein stumbled into his special relativity theory while riding a bus away from a clock and imagining the bus was traveling light speed. I understand perfectly that traveling at the speed of light, the light from the clock would appear to stand still and therefore time itself would appear to freeze, but what if Einstein had turned around on his bus and looked the forward instead of backward? Wouldn't a clock in front of him that he would be traveling towards appear to be moving twice as fast as normal and therefore cause there to be no real change to the time at all? |
