Default Stalagmites in the Ice Cube Tray

What's going on? I've never noticed this before. I've got stalagmites
growing in two top ice cube trays. Two are vertical, and the other two are
45 degrees or more. All different thickness and length.

Seems weird. Are aliens growing in my freezer?
