Default anecdote to paul dirac

Hi,
some years ago i heard an anecdote, that paul dirac solved as a pupil a
problem concerning some fishermen who divided a pile of fishes in a
complicated manner. The question was how many fishes are at least
necessary to make the division procedure work. Dirac found the
surprising and somehow absurd answer that some negative number of
fishes will do it.

Does anybody know the exact puzzle and Diracs solution? Thanx a lot in
advace
Ditmar
