Default Entanglement Question



What happens in the two-photon entanglement experiment if the distance
between source and detector is different for the two legs? Of course
the time coincidence circuitry would have to be adjusted but that
should be no problem.

Are the results exactly the same as the case where the source-detector
is the same for both legs?

Why should the distance between the two legs of your experiment matter? If
two particles are entangled they will always affect each other - remember,
it is not the distance that must be equal, but the time they were created
that is the important factor.

I assume that is dealt with correctly, namely that the two particles
detected belong to the same emission event.

No.


If I understand your question right, then after one of the particles is
destroyed, the other just goes on its merry way. There are no more spooky
actions affecting it.

I should think so.
