| Is Physics as we know the science based specifically on W=Fs? The premise for 'work' seems, for us, to form the foundation for 'reality' (excuse the scary quote--put your defintion there.), there are variations of course: dW= -Pdv for instance; but, seems to me W=Fs is the beginning of humankind's understanding of phenomena and being.
