about the fundamentals of logic to recognize a classical fallay -
argumentum ad ignorantiam

Only the faithful would take *anyone* at their word without reservations,
preist, rabbi, imam, or scientist.


IMO the best approach is to first define the term "god", and then to look
around to see if there really *is* anything that satisfies _all_ the
requirements of the definition.

I have done so for myself, and I am satisfied with what I have learned.

Seriously, I can think of no greater arrogance (read "the sin of pride")
than claiming to speak for God. You can tell Him I said so.

"Channeling" is a 'new age,' 'politically correct' term for the delusional
hearing of voices (auditory hallucination) that is a characteristic symptom
of one of the most widespread psychoses in modern civilization -
schizophrenia.

When I hear TV evangelists claiming to speak for God, or that 'God' (or 'the
Lord') told him such-and-such, I seriously don't know whether to laugh at
the irony of his delusion or to cry because there are thousands of fools out
there who believe him. Either way, the prudent course would be to suggest
the aid of a competent mental health professional, but schizophrenics resent
the implication and will never seek out such 'help' on their own.

When the voices get too persistent there is always the universal cure -
alcohol.

Ask your God why He created schizophrenics, and how they can be helped.

to find God.
