On a percentage basis, we are much safer in the USA.

I think the biggest danger is too much freedom in our country. It gives
terrorists the sense of "I can do this and nobody will care", and they get
worse and worse, eventually turning into 9/11-like events.

get

It has nothing to do with freedom. It has nothing to do with a perception
that terrorists might have that no one will care if they kill people.

It has everything to do with economics. Religion is just their tool. They
manufacture "smart bombs" with just a few thousand dollars that way.

Don't take all the credit, mate. Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the WWW, he's
British.

he's

"And if there ever was a thing that was made by committee, the Internet
with its protocols and packet switching is it. But the World Wide Web is
Berners-Lee's alone. He designed it. He loosed it on the world. And he more
than anyone else has fought to keep it open, nonproprietary and free"

The "Internet" was "invented" by a whole group of people, as thise quote
says. But the "forum for free exchange of
information" the World Wide Web, was invented by a Brit.

Doesn't really pertain to the above.. if the internet hadn't been invented by
DARPA, there wouldn't have been anything for the www to run on.

Next time pay attention instead of fillibustering.

Maybe you should have chilled out a bit and read my second post(!), deep
breaths and all that:

"The "Internet" was "invented" by a whole group of people, as this quote
says. But the "forum for free exchange of information" that you mentioned,
the World Wide Web, was invented by a Brit."

I was merely pointing out that the "forum for free exchange of information"
was not simply an American creation, happy? Well done to the clever chaps
at DARPA, but other people were also involved.

Maybe next time everyone here could calm down a bit before always responding
in an angry way and spelling big words incorrectly (just the one L is
needed)
