Default Brown Sugar

Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields,
Sold in a market down in New Orleans.
Scarred old slaver know he's doin' alright.
Hear him whip the women just around midnight.
Ah Brown Sugar how come you taste so good
(A - ha) Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should
A - huh.

Drums beating, cold English blood runs hot,
Lady of the house wond'rin where it's gonna stop.
House boy knows that he's doin' alright.
You should a heard him just around midnight.
Ah Brown Sugar how come you taste so good
(A - ha) Brown Sugar, just like a black girl should
A - huh.

I bet your mama was a tent show queen, and all her boy
Friends were sweet sixteen.
I'm no schoolboy but I know what I like,
You should have heard me just around midnight.

Ah Brown Sugar how come you taste so good
(A - ha) Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should.

I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah, I said
Oh just like a, just like a black girl should.

I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah, I said
Oh just like, just like a black girl should.

-Stones

I wonder if the lyrics were *cleaned* up for a.m. radio.

<snip>

That is on my list of the dumbest musical lyrics of all time. Ships
are 'bound for' ports, not fields. You would need a stout team of
dumb (or desperate) Vikings to get a ship into a field.

At the top of my list is "Where those fishing boats with their sails
afloat..." from Blue Bayou by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson.

Not only are fishing boats always powered by engines or oars (not
sails) down in the Bayou Country, but sails easily get snagged on the
trees that grow everywhere around the bayous. Also the keel would
bottom out in the shallow water.

Anyone you see in a sailboat on a bayou is likely to be some
boat-sellers' pet sucker from some Atlantic Coast marina. Cajuns have
more sense than that.

Any sailboat with its sails "afloat" is in deep trouble, and the
hapless sailor is likely to be chumming the 'gators real soon.

Any other classic nominees for the "sounds pretty until you think
about it and then its just plain stupid" awards?
