Default The third amino acid in the peptidoglycan cross-linking tetra-peptide chain?

The third amino acid in the peptidoglycan cross-linking tetra-peptide chain is either diaminopimelic acid, or lysine.
These amino acids are located in this position because the amino acid must:
Answer
