A peptide library is an easy way to obtain thousands of peptides. They can be as long as you want, and been made of so many different aminoacids as you think neccesary (obviuosly you need to understand that if you make a giant library it would be very diffivult to manipulate it). The library is made by the method DCR (divide-couple-recombine). The Fmoc synthesis is the most use.
When u have the library u can screen with a lebeled protein, to see if some peptides have affinity for your protein.
If u have any doubt let me know.
