 What is a peptide and a peptide bond? I'm pretty sure that a peptide bond is a covalent bond between 2 amino acids (is that right?) but what is a peptide itself? thank you!  |

Peptides are short polymers of amino acid monomers linked by peptide bond and peptide bond is a covalent chemical bond formed between two molecules when the carboxyl group of one molecule reacts with the amino group of the other molecule, causing the release of a molecule of water (H2O) and in this way an acid-amide bond is formed |
