Can Birth control increase Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)?
I have heard reports of estrogen being able to increase Calcitonin gene-related peptide. Since estrogen is a primary ingredient in birth control, I was wondering about what the effects of birth control are on Calcitonin gene-related peptide levels. I have a friend who started getting bad migraines after taking birth control and wondered what other facts could also cause this besides increase Calcitonin gene-related peptide levels.
