Default DNA Template Preparing for PCR?

Why do you think DNA is stored cold after boiling the samples?

Default Re: DNA Template Preparing for PCR?

To prevent the degradation of DNA - in your PCR mixture, your DNA can be degraded quickly after a few round of thaw-freeze (not sure why, probably due to a some of the compounds reacting with your DNA). Your DNA aren't exactly boiled, just heated to 94 C to ensure complete denaturation of the double-strands. I believe if you maintain the temperature at more than 100 for a long period of time, the DNA would be damaged as well.
