 PCR Kontamination with my own DNA? Hello everybody, i want to find the gene called Cx31 in mouse photreceptors. So i isolated them from mouse, did a RT-PCR and nested PCR, cloned the PCR product in pGEM-teasy and sequenced the clones. What i got was the sequence of Cx31but for humans, which is slightly diffenent. The similarity is 99% with homo sapiens-Cx31 but only 83% with mouse-Cx31. This protein is located in mammal skin-cells so can it be that i amplified my own or collegues DNA? We don't work in our lab with human or monkey DNA at all. The water control was negative. Please help me! Any Idea? Thank you! Petra.        |
