Question Short Unspecific PCR Products



Hello,
I am getting a lot of short unspecific products.

What can I do?

Default Re: Short Unspecific PCR Products

Depending on the size, they could be primer dimer, even dNTPs. For these you can lower their concentrations (start w/ the primers), and add PCR cycles so they get incorporated into the PCR product. Also you can optimize for MgCl2---which will also increase PCR product.
