Default Any tips for amplifying small amplicons??

Hi everyone!

I am trying to optimize my PCR reaction for a 120bp amplicon. In my master mix i am using dmso at 5% to decrease the primer dimer formation.Shall I decrease that or shall I play with the MgCl2 concentration?
Any suggestions?

I have never found the need to use DMSO, much less optimize it. I solve primer dimer formation by optimizing for primer-concentration first, annealing temperature and MgCl2 second, third I would optimize for starting DNA concentration.
