alkylation of amine

I want to alkylate N,N,N',N' tetramethyl methane diamine, but with conventional techniques I succeed in alkylating only one nitrogen atome, since the second one is deactivated by the first.

Do anyone have any suggestion?

Could it be useful to use strongly basic hindered amine as co-catalyst?

Thanks
