 Ferric citrate or Ferric ammonium citrate I will be treating an in vitro cell line with iron solutions and measuring cellular iron uptake. Some papers suggest using ferric citrate, others ferric ammonium citrate. At physiological pH (7.4) what would be the difference between using these two different compounds? In order for iron to be absorbed by cells in needs to be in the 2+ state (ferrous).  |
