Default Question Difference Between Synthetic and Organic Hormones

When I read that tests showed that Floyd Landis had synthetic,
testosterone in his blood I wondered about the differences between
synthetic and natural hormones. From what I read there can be
differences in atomic isotopes in synthetic and natural hormones. My
question is can there be differences in the atoms or atomic structure
found in different versions of the same hormone. For example are there
differences in the atomic structure and/or the chemistry of human and
animal insulin( thyroid).
