PhD student

I am PhD student at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. My supervisor is Prof. Anton Stoltz MBChD, MMed (Int Med), Phd. He is the head of our Infectious Disease division. We are collabrating with Ed Nardell from Harvard Medical School and I hoping he will be my co supervisor. I am focusing on Tuberculosis research and we are currently investigating new antibiotics for future treatments with an interest in reversing resistance in MDR and XDR strains. I am originally a Biochemist and I have specialized in HPLC and micrscopy techniques. All areas of science interest me but I am fascinated by medical sciences especially infectious disease treatments. I have only published one paper so far and I am hoping to get another two out during 2013. Besides my research passion, I enjoy golf, hiking, going on adventures (this year I drove with a friend from London, UK to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia), I love socializing, reading, gaming and playing chess, trying lots of new things and experiencing as much as possible I know this forum will help me a lot as I am already running into a micro issues.
