Default IC50 larger than Ki ?

Dear fellow Scientists,

I have been struggeling with my results for a couple of days now :S

I have done some enzyme inhibition tests (it is actually an ion transporter that I am working on) and keep getting Ki values larger than my IC50 values. They do not differ that much: IC50 is 9 2 Ki is 37 4.

But how could this be explained?

Thanks for your thoughts on this!
Regards
Z
