Default use of one year old qdot

Hi, I purchased qdot conjugated of 2ndary antibody from Invitrogen for my immunofluorescence experiment a year back and used some. The company set expiration date 6 months from the date of purchase. As you know qdots are very expensive, I wanted to use it without buying fresh one. Does anybody have any experience of using such an aged qdot in IF experience? Please suggest me if I can do it.
Thanks, NH
