I came across the term: 'w Berlin' or 'wB' control RNA, in a recent paper published in Cell. In the quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR assay, this was listed as one of the controls. The results of this RT QPCR are presented as relative mRNA levels in bar graph format.
Does anyone have any idea what this control is, its source, etc. and why it is used? I haven't been able to find it in my molecular cell bio texts or on the web.
The paper info is: 'Happyhour, a Ste20 Family Kinase, Implicates EGFR Signaling in Ethanol-Induced Behaviors.' Corl, Ammon B., et al. Cell 137, 949-960, May 29, 2009. DOI 10.1016/j.cell.2009.03.020
