Default from gene to proteins

hello
any body can tell me how we can do expressional studies of genes.like to see function of a particular gene by protein expression.

Hello,
we have some decent articles on recombinant protein expression techniques.

see a brief article here:
Molecular Station News Views Articles Protein Expression Techniques

You will need the cDNA of your gene of interest, cloned into an expression vector.

Then you will have to pick a type of cell to express your protein. Bacteria, Yeast, or Baculovirus depending on what studies you want to do.

Enzyme studies usually need Baculovirus (yeast may work too).

What would you like to do with the protein after purification/expression?

Hi
in order to study the function of protein after purification you can perform assay to check the function of your protein if it is enzyme. but if you dont know about your protein then you have to knockdown the gene in the organism from which you get your gene of interest and observe it effects, i.e. what happens if your gene of interest is not there in organism and to further confirm the function you clone the gene and transform it into the host and if it restore its function after expression then you can confirm the function of protein and hence your gene.
there are many other ways to proceed with your experiment.
regards
aftab
