| I'm having trouble identifying my organism, since all of the dichotomous keys I have looked at are giving me conflicting results. I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction. Here are my results (subjective but accurate according to colors/results): Motility: Non-motile (could be different, but unlikely) FTM: Facultative anarobe Lysine: + Citrate: + H2S (KIA): - Urea: - Indole: - Methyl Red: + VP: - Gel: - Glucose: + Mannitol: + Lactose: - Sucrose: - Maltose: - Nitrate: + Phenylalanine: - Catalase: + Oxidase: +/- (unsure) Litmus milk: purple, confirms nonlactose fermenter Thought it could have been shigella, but shigella is citrate AND lysine neg, which contradicts my tests. Any opinions would be helpful. |
