Hello,
hmm thats a weird one it may well affect the pH Padma, depending on which fungus has colonized the meter.

The best thing to do is clean it well first, then make sure you store it in high molarity KCL buffer or according to manufacturer's instructions. Otherwise your sample pH values and buffers may be affected, and you may get contamination as well from the bug.

Please tell us how you went

Hi
yes clearn it first with 70% ethanol, so to remove the fungus and then dip it in KCL solution, so it could work properly.
and mostly fungus grow in acidic pH,
if you check the pH, then you should immediaty wash it with dH2O and then put it in KCL solution, so it could work properly and for long time.
best luck.

regards
aftab

I think the electrode had been contaminated with a nutritious material otherwise it should not happen. If it has been left for too much time, I think you have to change electrolyte of your electrode. you should read manual of your device. Most use SCE/AgAgCl reference electrodes in saturated KCl. If that's the case after calibration you have to keep your electrodes in saturated KCl after cleaning after each test otherwise concentration of ions in reference electrode may change any cause a shift in reference potential and inaccuracy in your measurements.
