Default media agar question

Does anyone know of a solid agar recipe with low pH that would be good for growing acidophile bacteria?

Hi Jfee,

if your bacteria can grow on regular LB agar, I would simply make lower pH LB agar before your autoclave it.

Usually you pH adjust LB agar to about 7 although you specifically could adjust it to your bacteria's optimum pH (add acid such as HCl diluted to a lower pH) and see how well they grow.

cheers
Kiki
