Default Oligoarrays

Hiii am a researcher new to microarrays , I would like to know why in oligoarrays the oligos are spotted as probes on microarray slides and these are hybridised with PCR amplicons of genes ( for which the oligos were designed) .If they are hybridised with cDNA or with genomic DNA from the same bacteria wont they hybridise??Or else how can oligoarrays be used to detect bacteria? somebody enlighten me please
My q is if the oligos spotted are hybridised with pcr amplicons they will surely show positive signals upon scanning isnt it then if hybridised with cdna orgenomic dna what shall be the result.
Please help
thanx
