How to get started in gene exprssions with DNA microarrays

Hallo,
I started my ph.d studies on GENE expression profiling with DNA microarrays and PCR. I am stuck as i dont know where to begin with. I started RNA extraction to see if i can implant them on Microarrays. Plase suggest a prper way to get about things, as there are so many kits and books, i m getting lost and confused...

Thanks for the reply. I got a own DNA SYNTHESIZER IN LAB . I want to know how to proceed with learning and practical work, with out trying complicated things in beginning.
