The aqueous phase may be very viscous . If you can use phase lock gel tubes, do so. with these tubes,after centrifugation, a phase gel will be between your phenol and aqueous phase.
If not use phenol chloroform mix first

hi
i do an extraction for determining some strains of bacteria in aride zone
i would like to know what s the origin of some happening during extraction
like when we extract with phenol there are something stikning in the liquid phase and we cannot take out the aqueous easly to put it on chloroform to eliminat phenol
