Lightbulb Internships

Here is a great new Internship / Scholarship for pre-med students called PPREP. It gives students a chance to survey their community about medicines they take and do an analysis of their findings for publication. The best results are granted a $1500 scholarship or a new Macbook Air laptop.

The best part is that you can do the project on your own time, and that it looks great for a medschool application.

Can anyone who has done this share their experiences? Is it worthwhile?

An internship may be either paid, unpaid or partially paid (in the form of a stipend). Paid internships are most common in the medical, architecture science, engineering, law, business, technology and advertising fields. Internships in non-profit organization such as charities and think tanks are often unpaid, volunteer positions. Internships may be part-time or full-time; typically they are part-time during the university year and full-time in the summer, and they typically last 612 weeks, but can be shorter or longer. The act of job shadowing may also constitute as interning.
