 Re: Glycan mass spec Hi EJ78, It depends on which kind of glycan you are looking for. While many sugars do not carry any charge, some of them do (take Sialic acid for instance). Says, if the glycan part is simply the core high mannose structure, then the glycan won't contribute any charge to the glycopeptide; otherwise, if the glycan has a terminal sialic acid, then the answer will be "yes, it contributes one negative charge".
