| Why do I get a bad P value when the program gave a peptide list that exactly matches my protein of interest? 12 petides each with 100% homology. The program also fails to ID the protein calling it "unnamed protein product (Mus musculas)". These are highly conserved proteins and BLASTing the petides gives a consensus among many species but oddly for the mouse it only gives a clone number. The protein was searched with a mouse data base. I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem I'm just throwing out things that are weird. |
