| Mass spec manufacturers have a really bad habit of messing up a perfectly good instrument with bad software, and I don't just mean bugs in the code. Often there are ways to work around the issues presented by the programmers, to get what you want out of your instrument or to do so much more efficiently. I really don't understand some of the decisions made in how software is realized, particularly when things that seem fairly common and useful are left out. That said, I wish I could find a forum where all the disgruntled mass spec users of the world could exchange their special tricks to "fight the man" as it were. No really why can't I import a sample list from an excel or text file on a XXXXX LCMS? All the other LCMS systems, 4 other brands, I have worked on let me. Or is it just hidden? Or do I need to figure out how to make the right binary file format from text? I just want to use my excel macros to generate standard sample lists, where I only switch compounds and concentrations, plate by plate. ARGHHH! ![]() Okay off to work now |

| We bought a MALDI, but wanted to have easy access to our older LCMSMS data, so one of the reps from PE, gave us the LCMSMS software. Which we can know use to look at all the older data. Maybe you can get a copy of the software from the other LCMS system. |
