Default Suggestion to procure MS instrument

Dear Folks,
I am new to this forum and new to Mass spec. In our institution we are thinking to procure a Mass machine that should be capable for protein sequencing (size >=30 kD) and glyco analysis. Your valuable suggestions on specifications would be greatly appreciated.
I am happy to be a part of this forum and hoping to share more information on mass spectrometry.
Thank you very much
ss

Hi I recommend ABI or Thermo. Consider buying a robotic sample handling system coupled to HPLC-MS/MS all at the same time instead of piecing it together later on.

Thank you very much for the information. Is there any specification for choosing an analyzer to studying antibodies?
thanks

In the term of ESI-MS/MS, ESI is the ion source, gas phase ions formed from the solution and transferred by ion optics then enter into the MS as the detector. You can buy the HPLC system and ESI-MS/MS system separately, for example, using Agilent HP1100 (very classical also robost) HPLC coupled to Thermo Finnigan ESI-MS or just buy the HPLC from Thermo Finnigan as well.
