| I am hoping of opening up a lab someday just like many here. Please come up with a checklist of all the essential lab equipment most labs should have... I can start with a few * computers * centrifuges ( 1 cooled 1 tabletop 1 micro) * PCR machine * shaker (orbital) * incubator (bacterial plate incubator and for yeast also) * Bacterial (yeast) culture incubator (for flasks) * Shelving for chemicals (chemicals included) |

| Hi when you perform microbial work then beside the above mentioned apparatus you also need a autoclave (Benchtop for single lab) and an oven to sterilize the media and all other necessary apparatus.... need to add more......... regards aftab |

| yes, very good idea Aftab, alsos a bacterial shaker. 4C fridge -20 C freezer -80C freezer |

| I am setting up a Mol Bio Lab and this is a list of somethings I came up with: Non-refrigerated Centrifuge Tabletop for 15 and 50 ml Conicals Refrigerated Centrifuge Tabletop for 15 and 50 ml Conicals Non-refrigerated Microcentrifuge Tabletop for 1.5 and 2.0 ml Microtubes w/0.5 ml adaptors. Refrigerated Microcentrifuge Tabletop for 1.5 and 2.0 ml Microtubes w/0.5 ml adaptors. Gradient thermocycler, 96x0.2 ul format block Standard thermocycler, 96x0.2 ul format block pH-meter w/articulated arm. Magnetic stirrer/Hot-plates Water bath Electrophoresis chamber and power pack w/leads Liquid nitrogen tank Pipette kits (p2,p10, p20, p100, p200 & p1000) Multichannel pipettes UV Transilluminator Gel documentation station CO2 incubator for animal cell culture Inverted Binouclar Microscope w/phase contrast and camera port Normal binocular optical microscope Vertical 20 cf Fridge/Freezer combo Vertical 20 cf -20°C Freezer Undercounter fridge/freezers Vertical 17 cf -86°C Freezer Small 1000 watt microwave for agarose casting Class II A/B3 biological safety cabinet Vacuum pump CO2 cylinder and regulator, two stage 20 psi Microbalance Couple of vortex rotators And a lot more to come once I get bored of doing some more work.
