Eppendorf and MJ PCR machines are great. However, Eppendorf's newer RealTime instruments have major problems that were not resolved prior to release of these instruments. The RealPlex2 and RealPlex4 should be avoided at all cost. These may work well for SYBR qPCR, but Taqman-like assays are extremely problematic. Consider Biorad or Stratagene if you cannot afford the ABI 7500. The Eppendorf instruments are NOT worth a fraction of their list price.
