| How are knockout mice used for modelling OBESITY IN HUMANS? Obesity is the phenotype being tested. My understanding: Mice, like humans, have genes. These genes are a sequence of codes that program how we behave and how we look in appearance. By "knocking out" a portion of this gene sequence thing, and replacing it with another code of genes, our behaviour and/or our appearance changes. I just don't understand how we can test for obesity. Please help! I will give best answer to the most helpful. |
