Why is it easier to create transgenic mice as opposed to rats or other animals?
 

I mean the method would be the same for every species, you just insert the DNA construct into the embryonic stem cell.
What are the additional difficulties in doing this with rats? Please give me a precise answer, I know how to use wikipedia, thanks.
