Lightbulb Generation of Organ-specific Mouse Knockouts

How can one generate Organ-specific Mouse Knockouts?

are there any methods besides the promoter tissue-specific method to achieve organ specificity?

please post your ideas here
thanks

Hi Kiki,
to my knowledge the only method in which you can find a lot of papers is the generation of Flox/Flox mouse crossed with a mouse carring cre under a tissue specific promoter. this is the oinly method that I saw in litterature. Anyway just few days ago I had a talking with a guy planning to do the same by using a flox/Flox mouse infected with virus, i.e. the adenovirus for the liver, carring the cre gene. Theorically you can do the same reversing the genes inside the carriers (virus with the flox/flox geen and mouse with cre).
Greetings and ciao
