Default Possible thawing prior to fixation

I recently had some frozen kidney sections prepared from tissue I embedded in O.C.T. I transported them from the -80 freezer to a microscope at RT for several minutes because I was under the impression they were H&E stained sections (mislabelled). As soon as I realized this, I got them back in the -80. If indeed these slides thawed, will it prevent me from detecting my proteins? These slides were not yet fixed... Thanks for any help

Freeze thaw can definately damage antigens. But if the OCT was still hard, you probably did not thaw them.
