Default SNP detection

Hi!
I am workin on detecting SNPs on a particular exon of a gene. I am performing SSCP first to identify the presence/absence of variants in my sample and then do sequencing. Is it necessary to do sequencing of both the strands of DNA or is it sufficient if i sequence just one strand?

It is safer to sequence both strands.

Default Re: SNP detection

by sequencing both strand u will confidently confirmed the SNP u want to detect...
