Waterproof rice gene identified

Scientists have identified a gene in rice that will enable to grow and survive the rice for 2 weeks when it is totoally submerged in water.
this will help to protect the plants from death during the heavy monsoon and during flood and so the loss of rice due to these factor could now be reduced.
