Arrow Genomics and Science

The human genome project and all the new genomics initiatives are generating huge amounts of DNA data. However, it remains to be know what all these DNA non-coding and coding sequences really do!

Our understanding of even CODING sequences is really minimal. Despite the rise in microarray technology, we have not even glimpsed the idea of the enormity of the interactions that occur;

DNA-DNA?

DNA-PROTEIN

DNA-RNA

DNA-Lipid

Protein-Protein

Protein-DNA

Protein-RNA

Protein-Lipid

RNA-Protein

RNA-Lipid

RNA-DNA

RNA-RNA!

and all four together....

I dont know about you, but there is so much we do not know. Even those interactions I mentioned are simply coding interactions..

how will we deal with the non-coding areas? the so called JUNK DNA?

Science has to deal with huge amounts of data, and I really do not see how we can unravel the web that has been made for us....
